Fibre Hair Aftercare Advice

A Step by Step Guide to Washing your Wig

1. Prior to washing, remove all knots and tangles, paying particular attention to the nape section. (Permed and extra dry
models should firstly be sprayed sparingly with ‘Trendco Lubricant’ and worked throughout).

2. Fill a hand bowl with tepid water and a little ‘Trendco Shampoo’ and very gently agitate your wig or hairpiece back and
forth in the water.

3. Gently rinse in clear tepid water so that there are no traces of shampoo. A capful of fabric conditioner can be added to
the bowlful of water to help condition the fibre.

4. Thoroughly rinse the fabric conditioner out.

5. Pat gently on a towel to remove excess water.

6. Place on a polyblock to dry naturally.

7. When completely dry, spray with ‘Trendco Soften ‘n Sheen’ and style.

Fibre Hair Advice

For the best results and the prolonged life of your purchase, we recommend:

· Before / after wearing, spray the fibre hair lightly with ‘Soften ‘n Sheen’, then gently remove any knots and tangles with the fingers.

· Scrunched permed models must never be brushed - arrange an alternative such as your fingers or a wide tooth afro comb.

· If worn daily, wash every 10 / 14 days, otherwise monthly - the reason for this is that fibre hair is non-porous, it does not need to be washed as frequently as our own hair.

Important Notes

· Never use intense heat on your fibre wig, such as hair dryers, ceramic irons, curling tongues as these will burn the fibres.

· Never wash in hot water.

· Avoid opening ovens whilst wearing a wig.

· Fibre wigs need to be replaced more frequently and require more intense aftercare.

· Please also note that continual wearing of a fibre wig will result in frizzing at the base - especially if your wig is collar length or longer. The actual name for this is friction frizz.

· A recommended way to prevent / ease friction frizz is to steam the wig.

· Modacrylic fibre can never be coloured or bleached.

· For flexible partings on a fibre wig, select a wig that has a hand knotted monofilament top finish.

· Machine wefted wigs tend to have root teasing – this is produced to hide the weft line and foundation underneath.
